A Cheap Trinket

"Star please let me and Tiger go on a walk alone, we'll be fine! We're gonna still have our ray guns so we'll be safe." Spider Veins begged her puppy dog look made even more adorable by the two black lightning streaks down her cheeks. Star's grass green eyes were sympathetic but she was firm in denying Spider Veins' request.

"I'm sorry Spider but I don't want to lose my best friends and fighters simply because they were too busy kissing to see a Drac sneaking up them." she stated making Spider Veins' face go red as she looked away, neon blue price tag earring fluttering from the movement. Spider Veins opened her mouth to mutter back a retort but Skarred Tiger's hand over her mouth stopped her words.

"It doesn't bother me to have Star and Blade along Lyn, as long as I'm with you." he murmured wrapping his arms around her torso and kissing her temple.

"Alright Scarface stop eating Spider's face, you've got a walk to go on!" Raging Blade exclaimed. While someone else calling Skarred Tiger Scarface would have ended up with a broken face, Blade was his friend and his insults never had malice behind them. Beneath the smart ass attitude Blade admired Tiger for bearing his scars with dignity and humility instead of self-pity or worse arrogance.
The black and orange haired man had received his scars from a tiger that had been let lose in his home by BL/ind when they had begun taking over. He was mauled close to death and it had been a miracle that he held on for the two weeks before Star came upon him, though he just barely did so.
Spider Veins gave Raging Blade a thankful smile as she lead Skarred Tiger out of the gas station onto their walk.

"Blade! Do you know what danger they could come across?!" Renegade Star exclaimed turning to call the two back but was held back by Blade grasping her small wrists.

"Sweetheart Spider and Tiger can take care of themselves, stop worrying so much." Blade soothed pulling her close to him. Star sighed and looked up at her boyfriend, gazing into those teal eyes of his.

"But that's my job Blade, I'm the leader I'm supposed to look after my comrades." she halfheartedly argued.

"And sweetie you do a wonderful job but you need to do other things beside worrying about us." Blade responded running his fingers through her brown streaked with blonde hair, making her lean into his touch.

"And what exactly should I be doing?" she asked those dark green eyes sparkling playfully up at him, a smile pulling at the corners of her mouth.

"This." Blade murmured cupping her chin and kissing her slowly and passionately. Star smiled into the kiss and wound her arms around his neck, pressing her soft body against his.

"I hope Star won't be too mad." Spider thought aloud as they walked, to which Tiger squeezed her little hand reassuringly. She gazed over at him with her sweet lilac eyes and grinned her lip piercing, black lightning streak makeup and red, black, purple striped hair looking at odds with her kind, gentle eyes. It seemed Tiger thought the same for an adoring look came to his expression as he stated

"What beautiful eyes you have, their only a shade lighter than you're sweater." Spider blushed and bumped her hips against his muttering that he was just saying that. At this Tiger stopped walking completely bringing Spider to a halt too. "Spider Veins I would never 'just say something' nor would I lie. I could not stand to think myself a man if I were to become like BL/ind, lying to all and selling love as a cheap trinket. Those are the two things that separate BL/ind and I. I do not like lying and my love to you is genuine and lasting." he murmured in his voice like crushed velvet wrapping her in a firm but loving embrace. Spider had to swallow a good few times before she could speak, for her throat had grown achy with emotion.

"I love you too Tiger and…and that means so much." she answered a few tears escaping, ruining her make-up before falling onto his jacket. Tiger moved away enough so that he could wipe away her wet cheeks before kissing her between the eyebrows, and holding her close under the orange harvest moon.
